How does it work?
The intense pulsed light system releases precisely controlled strong pulses of filtered light that stimulate the fibroblast cells within the skin that produce collagen and elastin. This improves the radiancy and tightness of the skin, improving enlarged pores, fine lines and giving a more uniform complexion. The IPL light will also have an adverse effect on the P.Acnes bacteria thereby reducing mild acne, spots and blemishes.
How is the treatment performed?
The skin is thoroughly cleansed and toned and then a mild exfoliating peel is used. The peel removes the top layers of dead skin, leaving the skin feeling smoother and refreshed. A light and relaxing lymphatic drainage massage will then be performed on the face, décolleté and shoulders.
The laser applicator is placed onto the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The applicator is then moved around the area until it has been completely covered. A prescriptive treatment masque is then applied. You will have the chance to relax while the masque does it work. It will then be removed, followed by toning and moisturising.
How does the treatment feel?
The treatment is comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable.
Am I suitable?
Following a thorough consultation you will be advised of your suitability. Please note that these treatments are not performed during pregnancy or over a suntan. Treatments are particularly useful as an alternative to surgery for those aged in their 30's, 40's or 50's.
What are the after effects?
The skin may be slightly red for a few hours. However, most patients experience no after effects. Very rarely darkening or lightening of the skin may occur, but this is only temporary.
What happens after the treatment?
You may feel a warm, glowing sensation. Pigmented spots may darken and then fall off, leading to an evening of skin tone. Tightening of the skin should increase over a 24 hour period, building up with each treatment and lasting between treatments. spots and blemishes should reduce over the following few days.
How many treatments are required?
Treatments are carried out every 1-2 weeks and 6 treatments are usually recommended initially. Thereafter, top up sessions may be performed as necessary.
How long does the treatment take?
Usually approximately 45 minutes.
