Aftercare

No matter what treatment you have, it is always imperative to follow the preparation and aftercare advice. Not only for safety but also to enhance the results of your treatment plan.

Be prepared, well informed and plan ahead by following the steps below.

Please note – treatment specific pre and post care will also be explained in detail during your consultation appointment.

Laser Hair Removal

Preparation and aftercare:

  • Prior to each treatment the hair should be shaved or trimmed from the surface of the skin the day before. It will not be possible to undertake treatment unless this is done.
  • After treatment the hair will appear to still be growing. It is in fact shedding and this process can take up to three weeks but do not be concerned if you do not notice it.
  • Shaving and trimming in the meantime is possible.
  • It is likely that no results will be visible until after several treatments.
  • The hair re-growth should be slowed and may be patchy and finer when it does return.
  • After several treatments the re-growth may then appear to worsen; in fact the growth cycle has become synchronised, which is highly desirable as subsequent treatments will be even more effective.

DO NOT: (for 48 hours after each treatment)

  • Undertake any activity that creates heat – such as exercise, sauna, steam bath, cooking over steaming pans etc. or use a swimming pool or Jacuzzi
  • Use perfumed lotions, perfumed skincare products or soap based products

  • Have treatments when immune system is low due to stress, excess alcohol/drugs, illness
