3D HIFU (Body)
What happens after a HIFU body treatment and what results can I expect?
What happens after treatment?
As soon as the session is over, the treatment area will have a normal surface temperature but heat will be felt deeper in the skin. The area may be a little red and swollen and this can be experienced for up to 2 weeks.
What results can I expect?
The fat cells in the treated area die and dissolve then the residue is picked up by the Lymphatic system and removed through the body over a course of a few weeks. This will give a permanent reduction in the fat layer treated.
The results of the HIFU procedure are usually visible 2 – 4 months after treatment.
What will I experience during a HIFU body treatment?
What will I experience during treatment?
- Firstly the therapist will mark the treated area to determine treatment procedure.
- A thin layer of gel is applied to the skin and treatment area.
- The treatment hand piece is placed onto the area and the HIFU is emitted.
- There will be a build-up of heat in the area for 2 minutes and then the handpiece is placed in the next area and the process is repeated until the area is complete.
What areas are suitable for HIFU body treatments?
What body areas are treated?
The HIFU treatment focuses on pockets of fat on the abdomen and flanks, under buttocks and outer thigh.
What do we use if for?
HIFU will treat ‘pockets of fat’ situated around the body and is deal for sculpting the body shape.
How does HIFU treatment for the body works and what happens to the fat?
How does the HIFU body treatment work?
HIFU uses a working surface area of 43mm2 delivering high intensity focused ultrasound 13mm into the subcutaneous fat layer via a square handpiece. The energy creates a heat of 60-65 causing necrosis within the fat cells in the targeted areas. HIFU will treat ‘pockets of fat’ situations around the body, ideal for sculpting. The effected fat cells in the treated area die and dissolve over the course of a 12-16 week period.
What happens to the fat?
When fat cells are exposed to the intense heat created by the HIFU the cells start to inflame and breakdown. This causes the entire cell to swell and rupture (cell lysis) and ultimately breaks down the plasma membrane and the contents of the cell including extracellular fluid. This inflammatory response attracts Macrophages that ingest and clear the extracellular lipids and cellular debris. Due to the heat increase within the skin, contraction and thickening of the collagen fibres are achieved giving a noticeable skin tightening effect.
3D HIFU (Face)
What results can I expect from a HIFU face treatment and how long do they last?
What results can I expect?
Immediately after treatment the area will look a little pink and have an initial contraction or tightening of the face.
How long does the effects last?
The full effect of the HIFU treatment will be seen approximately 2 – 4 months post treatment and results will last from 12 – 18 months.
How can I expect to feel after a HIFU face treatment?
- As soon as the session is over the treatment area will have normal surface temperature but heat will be felt deeper in the skin.
- The area can be a little red and swollen for a short time post treatment and in rare cases this could be experienced for up to 2 weeks.
- It is not uncommon to experience a mild headache a few hours after the treatment, this is due to the tightening effect and will be short lived, you may take paracetamol but do not take ibruprofen or anything that is anti inflammatory.
What will I experience during HIFU treatment for the face and how long does it last?
What will I experience during treatment?
- Firstly the therapist will mark the treated area to determine treatment procedure.
- A thick layer of gel is applied to the skin.
- The treatment head is placed on the treatment area and the HIFU is emitted.
- This is repeated a number of times over the whole treatment area.
- There will be a build-up of heat in the area and sensation is generally felt greater around bony areas of the face.
How long does a treatment last?
A facial treatment will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
What areas of the face is treated with HIFU?
What areas are treated?
The HIFU treatment focuses on the cheek, forehead and eye area and also treats the neck.
Who is HIFU treatement for the face for?
HIFU is for clients wishing to achieve a ‘lift’ on the face and neck and a reduction in fines lines and wrinkles. HIFU is often marketed as the ‘new, non-surgical face lift’. It is completely non invasive and requires no downtime.
What is HIFU treatment for the face and how does it work?
What does HIFU mean?
High Intensity focused ultrasound.
How does HIFU treatment work?
3D Ultimate HIFU is a non invasive treatment that delivers high intensity focused ultrasound energy at 3 different depths into the skin, 1.5mm, 3.0mm and 4.5mm. This energy creates a heat of 60 – 65 degrees at these depths causing the cells to heat up, increasing blood flow and stimulating collagen production resulting in firmer, tighter skin and improving the appearance of fines lines and wrinkles.
What happens to the treated area?
HIFU promotes healing and causes an immediate contraction within the SMAS muscle layer whilst stimulating collagen production through fibroblast activity. The healing process will work over 90-180 days and the wound healing response stimulates long term tissue repair which leads to further lifting and tightening.
The SMAS layer (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) is the layer to which the muscles of the face and the soft tissue attach. It is a layer of tissue that attaches and surrounds the deeper tissues and structures of the face and neck, including the entire cheek area.
The SMAS is made up of collagen and elastin fibres similar to those of the dermal tissue. This is the section of the skin treated with HIFU which produces a longer lasting tightening effect as a result of treatment.
3D LED Therapy
How many LED therapy treatments are required and how often?
How many LED therapy treatments are required?
A course of 6 – 12 treatments needed usually 2-3 times per week.
There is no downtime and the treatments are painless.
What is LED light therapy and how does it work?
What is LED therapy?
LED (light emitting diode ) therapy is a non invasive, safe and effective light based treatment that uses varying wavelengths of red, yellow, green and blue light to improve the health and overall function of the skin. LED helps to improve various skin conditions like acne and Rosacea and reduces damage caused to the skin by environmental factors that result in sun damage and pigmented lesions.
How does LED therapy work?
LED light therapy penetrates the skin at different depths causing various reactions . Blue light LED is great at fighting Acne bacteria by reducing activity in the sebaceous glands, these small oil producing glands slow down, reducing oil production and killing the bacteria responsible for causing Acne.
Red light LED helps to improve scarring and Acne scarring and helps to fight the signs of ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles. The light stimulates fibroblasts, encouraging the production of collagen making skin healthy, firmer and brighter. Red light LED is also good for reducing skin inflammation and healing wounds.
Yellow and green LED light colours are both great for improving Rosacea, redness or irritation, sun damage and pigmentation. They have anti inflammatory properties and are very gentle making them the ideal treatment for sensitive skin. All LED light colours can be combined together and make the perfect addition to many of our other skin treatments including microdermabrasion, skin Peels, electro messo therapy, dermaplaning and radio frequency skin tightening enhancing the final result.
What is LED therapy used for?
Acne / acne scarring / blackheads / dry or rough skin / dull skin / pigmentation / Rosacea / skin tightening & lifting / uneven skin tone / scarring / inflammation / dermatitis / fine lines and wrinkles
3D Radio Frequency
What is 3D Radio Frequency therapy and how does it work?
What is Radio Frequency (RF) therapy?
RF skin tightening is a non invasive, pain free technique that utilises RF energy to heat dermal tissue and stimulate collagen production, giving an instant tightening and lifting effect.
It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and loose, slackened or crepe like skin. The result is an instant tightening and lifting of the treated area. Great for improving skin tone and texture on the face or body.
How does it work?
Radio Frequency technology penetrates the skin layers and selectively heats the skin tissue and the extra cellular matrix where collagen fibres are embedded. The localised heating of the area causes an immediate contraction of the collagen fibres and at the same time increases the metabolism of the fibroblasts in order to accelerate production of new collagen and elastin fibres resulting in an improvement in skin tone and texture and fines lines and wrinkles to create a smoother, healthier and younger looking skin.
Glycerine will be applied to the skin, this acts as a heat conductor for the energy emitted from the hand piece being used. A small hand piece is applied to the skin and moved in a circulation motion gently heating the skin until it reaches 40 degrees. Your therapist will use an infrared thermometer to measure the heat of the skin. One the temperature has built up to 40 degrees she will continue to work on the area for 2-4 minutes before moving onto the next area.
What do we use it for?
Bespoke body contouring / Body skin tightening / Cellulite / Eyelid lift / Fat reduction / Fine lines & wrinkles / Skin tightening and lifting / Bespoke combined facial therapy
How many treatments are required?
6 – 12
Does it hurt?
No, you will just feel mild heat sensation during and following treatment .
Downtime
None, although your skin may be a little pink for a short while after treatment but can easily be covered with mineral make up.
3D Shockwave Therapy
What is 3D Shockwave therapy and how does it work?
What is 3D Shockwave therapy?
A probe is placed onto the treatment area and delivers acoustic sound waves into the body which stimulate microcirculation within the fat layers, increasing metabolic function and enhancing cellular membrane permeability.
Free fatty acids and glycerol are released from the fat cells and sit in the intercellular space. Lymphatic movement and increased blood supply remove these waste products from the body. The sound waves also stimulate connective tissue and septa mobility, giving the skin a firmer tone, reducing dimples in the skin.
This is a non-invasive treatment that can target and rejuvenate the skin and soft tissues.
Shockwave therapy has also been proven to accelerate and enhance the results achieved when combined with other fat reduction treatments such as Cryo fat freezing, Cavitation and as part of our Bespoke Body Contouring packages.
What do we use it for?
Stretchmarks / Bespoke body contouring / Cellulite / Fat reduction / Focussed fat removal /Body skin tightening / Cavitation / Cryo fat freezing
Number of treatments?
6 – 12
Does it hurt?
Mildly, it feels like a very deep, tissue massage.
Downtime?
Possibly a little bruising or tenderness for up to 10 days post treatment.

From 15 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours, depending on the areas treated.
Cynosure Alexandrite/Nd:Yag Laser (hair removal)
How does the Alexandrite/Nd:YAG laser work?
The Cynosure Elite Alexandrite Nd:YAG is a dual wavelength FDA approved medical grade 4 laser. It is the same laser used in hospitals and medical practices worldwide and it sets the gold standard when it comes to laser treatments.
Alexandrite laser hair removal technology works by using revolutionary pulsed (755nm) high energy laser which emit a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the hair causing it to heat and destroy the follicle, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected and resulting in permanent hair reduction.
Whilst the Alexandrite is suitable for skin types 1 – 3, the Nd:YAG laser (1064nm) is a safe and effective for darker skin types.
Apart from laser hair removal, this laser is also used for hyperpigmentation, sun damage, melasma, skin tags, uneven skin tone and more.
Fine lines and wrinkles
Can I have a peel at my first appointment?
In order to achieve the maximum results the skin needs to undergo preparation before the treatment. This can be carried out at home, through the use of our home care products, for a minimum of two weeks before the peel.
Heliocare Skincare Products
Heliocare® is a leading line of sun protection products by Cantabria Labs.
Heliocare provides the best daily defence against sun damage and premature skin ageing. Each product is packed with intelligent ingredients that provide maximum broad spectrum protection against the sun’s damaging rays and defend the skin from deep within.
Heliocare understands that all skin is unique. That’s why they offer a range of formulations to suit your skin type, so that everyone can find a Heliocare product to fall in love with.
UVA and UVB protection
Many of us reach for sunscreen when it’s sunny, but did you know that UVA, visible light and infrared-A can damage your skin all year round? All these rays are emitted by the sun and are powerful enough to penetrate cloud and glass – so even on the cloudiest days, our skin is still at risk.
Heliocare 360° products contain a combination of mineral and non-mineral filters to absorb and scatter the sun’s rays. This combination allows high levels of protection in a range of beautiful formulations.
The Heliocare 360° Mineral Tolerance Fluid is the only exception to this, as it contains only mineral filters. Its advanced formulation means that it feels light and silky and leaves no white residue on the skin, a common issue with many mineral-only products.
Visible light & infrared-A defence
Visible light and infrared-A have also been shown to cause damage to the skin and lead to premature skin ageing. Heliocare 360° contains a Biosheild system that protects skin against visible light – like our own melanin, but much more powerful – and combats damage specifically caused by infrared-A.
DNA damage repair
DNA damage is a core component of sun damage, rendering the affected cells ineffective and, in the worst cases, causing mutations. Every Heliocare 360° product contains powerful DNA repair enzymes that not only help to repair damage, but prevent additional damage from happening.
Supercharged anti-oxidant Fernblock
Every Heliocare product contains Fernblock®, a powerful natural ingredient that is unique to the Heliocare® range.
Fernblock® comes from the fern Polypodium Leucotomos. Over time, this plant has developed a protective mechanism from the sun. Fernblock® harnesses this natural plant power to benefit the skin in so many ways, including defending skin cells from damage caused by the sun and protecting our skin cell DNA.
It’s the result of years of research and is backed by significant clinical data.
As well as the unique and powerful Fernblock®, Heliocare 360° also contains additional anti-oxidants to help boost the health of the skin, including green tea extract, vitamin C and E.
Laser hair removal
Can you do laser hair removal with the Smart Diode laser on tanned skin?
We can do laser hair removal on a tanned skin with our Smart Diode laser as it heats the skin differently. However, it is always best to avoid the sun where possible before laser hair removal due to it requiring a contrast between the hair and skin colour.
The darker the hair and the paler the skin the better the final result will be.
Can you do laser hair removal with the Cynosure Alexandrite/ND:Yag Laser on tanned skin?
Sun exposure must be avoided for at least 8 weeks before and 6 weeks after your course of laser treatments with the Cynosure Alexandrite/Nd:YaG Laser ddue to the fact that traditional lasers love Melanin (pigment).
The laser targets the Melanin in the hair during the treatment so when your skin has an active tan (by producing Melanin) the laser targets the skin as well as the hair, potentially leading the skin to heat and burn.
Please note that we can do laser hair removal on a tanned skin with our Smart Diode laser as it heats the skin differently. However, it is always best to avoid the sun where possible before laser hair removal due to it requiring a contrast between the hair and skin colour.
The darker the hair and the paler the skin the better the final result will be.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Laser hair removal is a hair management programme with permanent results. You will never be 100% hair free with most people experiencing an 80 – 95% reduction in hair growth following a course of 6 – 12 treatments. The remaining 5 – 20% of the hair will be lighter, finer and slower, managing the growth permanently.
You will need to maintain the results with occasional top up treatments, usually once or twice a year but sometimes only once every few years.
Can I carry on as normal after treatment?
There are some basic steps that can be followed straight after the treatment has taken place, namely keep the area cool and regularly apply Aloe Vera.
Your skin practitioner will be able to advice on the best post treatment care.
Yes. We need to assess your medical history and current skin condition to check that you are (still) suitable for treatment and we determine the correct settings for your particular treatment from the patch test. We also ask you to sign a consent form that confirms we have explained the laser treatment process, and allows us to carry out treatments and store your personal data. During your initial consultation, your practitioner will devise an individual course of treatments suited to you, and will discuss your treatment expectations.
Microdermabrasion
What is microdermabrasion and how does it work?
What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic skin exfoliation procedure that uses a mildly abrasive diamond tipped hand piece to lightly buff away dead skin cells, whilst a gentle vacuum suction works to dispose of them. It can be used on the all areas of the face and body and leaves the skin soft, smooth and invigorated.
How does it work?
Microdermabrasion works by buffing away dead cells from the skin surface, these cells can build up, blocking the pores and leaving the skin looking dull and congested, by buffing the dead cells away it helps to unblock pores and even out skin tone , leaving the skin brighter, clearer, softer and smoother.
Microdermabrasion is a gentle treatment that is suitable for all skin types, its particularly good for treating dry skin, blackheads, open pores, pigmentation and fine lines.
The Microdermabrasion treatment can be combined with many of our other treatments for enhanced results, including Radio frequency skin tightening, Electromesso, LED, Epionce skin care, skin peels and Regenlite. It is also offered as part of our Bespoke Combine Facial Therapy packages.
What do we use microdermabrasion for?
Acne scarring / Blackheads / Dry or rough skin / Dull skin / Fine lines & wrinkles / Hyperpigmentation / Open pores / Pigmentation / Scarring / Uneven skin tone
Number of treatments?
From 1 to 6 treatments depending on skin condition being treated.
Does microdermabrasion hurt and will my face be red after the treatment?
Not at all, you will feeling slight pressure and gentle suction.
The skin may appear a little pink for a short while post treatment. Mineral make up can be applied immediately afterwards.
Microneedling
A topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to numb the skin prior to treatment.
Can microneedling be used on the face and body?
Microneedling is most frequently used on the face but can be used on the body to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and loose skin.
Regenlite© Pulsed Dye Laser
How soon will I see an improvement after treatment with the Regenlite pulsed dye laser for acne?
Results so far have indicated three stages of treatment.
- On the day of the treatment, you should experience a reduction in tenderness.
- In the following days, most people find that their existing breakouts resolve rapidly.
- In the weeks after, there should be an improvement to the reddened areas due to the old lesions improving and a reduction of scarring. Occasionally, some people experience a flare up of lesions 2- 4 weeks after treatment. This will usually resolve on its own.
Can I use my skin care products after treatment by the Regenlite pulsed dye laser for acne?
Using the skin care products we have advised you to use on a daily basis is the best way to maximise and maintain the improvements gained by Regenlite laser treatment but we do suggest that you refrain from using your treatment regime for 48 hours after treatment to allow the skin to settle.
It is important to carry on using your sun protection every day.
- Avoid swimming in a public pool for 2-3 days following treatment.
- Do not use heavily perfumed skin creams and avoid perfume for at least 2 days.
- If you wish to apply make-up to the treated area you can do this straight away, but be sure to cleanse the skin gently in the evening to remove all traces.
- The following morning cleanse and apply make-up as per your usual routine but do not use any products containing Aloe Vera (including health drinks and tablets as well as topical products for 7 days before and after the treatment.
- Do not smoke on the day of the treatment and for 48 hours after as this stops the treatment from working effectively.
- If you are using topical Vitamin A preparations, these are best avoided for 2 days before and after the treatment.
What will my skin look like after being treated by the Regenlite pulsed dye laser for acne?
Immediately after your treatment there will be little or nothing to see on the treated skin, however some people do experience mild redness and a warming sensation. At worse you may have occasional small red bruises (purpura) scattered around the treated area, but these often fade within the next few hours.
In very extreme circumstances they may persist for a few days, but can be covered with make-up. On sensitive areas such as the neck or hands, there is a possibility that you may get a prickly heat type of reaction that usually settles after 24 hours. You are advised not to take anti-histamines or anti-inflammatory medications to treat these mild symptoms as this can lessen the result form the laser treatment.
How does the Regenlite pulsed dye laser work?
During treatment with the Regenlite pulsed dye laser, low energy yellow light penetrates the skin creating zones of heat that trick the skin into thinking it has been wounded. This stimulates the growth of new healthy cells to replace the old damaged ones, destroying acne bacteria which can cause breakouts, pustules and cysts and overtime changing the way the body’s cells respond to the acne bacteria giving a lasting and long term improvement.
By stimulating the skins natural healing response it also promotes and encourages collagen production which improves the appearance of scars, Acne scars, fines lines and wrinkles.
This laser is also designed to drastically improve Rosacea and lighten red coloured skin marks, such as port wine stains, birth marks or facial thread veins. The yellow light emitted by the laser targets the small blood vessels beneath the skin surface. The small blood vessels absorb the heat of the laser minimising the vessels near the skin surface reducing overall redness. The surrounding tissue and surface skin cells are unaffected.
What do you use the Regenlite pulsed dye laser for?
Acne / Acne Scarring / Fine lines & wrinkles / Rosacea / Redness / Red Veins (Spider Nevi & Thread Veins) / Scarring / Stretch marks / Dull skin
Number of treatments required?
Depending on the condition either 1 or a course of 3 – 6
Does it hurt?
Moderately, a small sting and heat can be felt during treatment.

Epionce skin peels don’t hurt, your skin just feels a little warm and tingly.
Post treatment your skin may be a little pink for a few hours but no downtime is necessary.
What Epionce skin peels do you offer?
Epionce Salicylic acid skin peel
Salicylic acid belongs to the beta hydroxy acid family of acids. Great for reducing oil and congestion in the skin. When used as a peel, this type of acid is good for those who have pimples, acne, melasma, freckles and sunspots.
Epionce Lite skin peel (Refresh)

Epionce Malic acid skin peel
This peel exfoliates dead cells on the outermost layer of the skin and promotes cell turnover, leaving skin brighter and more even, and also helping to keep pores unclogged. It is great for anyone looking to fade discoloration and/or achieve more radiant skin, as well as those who are acne-prone. It’s also a good skin peel for people with sensitive skin, fines lines and wrinkles and for those whom other acids may be too irritating.
Will I be able to go out in the sun after a peel?
Your skin will be more susceptible to sun damage up to 4 weeks after the treatment as the peels resurface the skin. We recommend a sun protection cream of at least SPF 25 is worn permanently to reduce the effects of sun damage and ageing. If travelling to a hot climate we recommend a skin peel is done on return of the journey.
Skin tightening and lifting (face)
